In 1998, we worked on The Foundry at the former 1982 World’s Fair Site in Knoxville, Tennessee. To blend new additions with the circa 1860 building, we used reclaimed wood flooring salvaged from the historic Christenberry School.

We also crafted large mantles from architecturally salvaged doors, trims, and moldings. A standout feature is the large stone fireplace, built using a hand-faced limestone archway with a keystone, salvaged from the historic McCallie School.

The hearth stones—hand-faced granite door thresholds salvaged from the historic Brookside Mills (circa 1880)—along with the new addition’s windows and stair treads, were all reclaimed, restored, and installed from the Brookside Mills project.
