the Foundry
KNOXVILLE, TN
Trough back to 1998 when we had the pleasure to work for our friends at the Foundry located on the 1982 worlds Fair Site in Knoxville Tennessee. Using our reclaimed wood flooring we salvaged from the historic Christenberry School to help keep the nostalgia going of the circa 1860 building in the New additions added the materials needed to match the existing building.
We built large mantles for the fireplaces using Architectural salvaged doors trims and moldings, My favorite is the large stone fireplace that we built using a old grand entrance off the Historic McCallie School we salvaged in the forth and gill area a couple of years earlier it features all hand faced limestone archway with a spectacular keystone in the center, the hearthstones we salvaged from the Historic Brooke side mills circa 1880 they are hand faced granite door thresholds that were 8′ long we salvaged years earlier.
The windows in the new addition along with the worn stair treads for the new staircase were also salvaged from the Brookside mills we restored and then installed them.
